May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade – March 19th in Toronto!!

March 19, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The St. Patrick’s Parade Society are the custodians of a tradition to celebrate Ireland’s history, culture and heritage through entertainment. We are a not for profit, event staging organization, responsible for numerous Irish events throughout the year. We annually organize the Grand Marshal Ball, the St. Patrick’s Parade Lunch, Celtic Island, and Toronto’s St. Patrick’s Parade.

Legendary sports broadcaster for the Toronto Raptors and TSN, Jack Armstrong, is to be honoured with the title of the Grand Marshal of the 2023 St. Patrick’s Parade in Toronto.

This year’s parade will take place on Sunday, March 19th, beginning at 12pm.

Armstrong, the son of two immigrants from Ireland, has been the voice of NBA in Toronto for many years. He has become a recognizable voice on Canadian television since beginning his career as a broadcaster with the Toronto Raptors in the fall of 1998.

Toronto’s St. Patrick’s Parade is one of the largest community events in the city and is the largest celebration of Irish culture anywhere in Canada.

The involvement of Jack Armstrong as Grand Marshal is a testament to the importance of the St. Patrick’s Parade in Toronto and its growth as a major event in North America. That growth can be attested to the large number of volunteers who dedicate an immense amount of time each year.

Over 5,000 participants march the parade route each year, and hundred of thousands more line the streets to watch the festivities.

The parade will begin at the corner of St. George and Bloor Street West at 12 pm and proceed down Yonge Street, turning left towards the review stand at Nathan Phillips Square.

Jack Armstrong, Grand Marshal of the Toronto St. Patrick’s Parade, said:

“I’m immensely proud of my Irish heritage, so it is a great personal honour to be named as this year’s Grand Marshal of Toronto St. Patrick’s Parade.

“After many years working in Toronto, it is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all things Irish in this great city at one of the largest events of the year.

Shaun Ruddy, Chairperson of the St. Patrick’s Parade Society of Toronto, said:

“The parade is not only a celebration of Irish heritage and culture but also a great opportunity to promote the city of Toronto and its diversity.

“It’s not just a great opportunity to enjoy a fun day out with the family, but it also provides an opportunity for people to learn about Irish culture and history.

“The parade also features a variety of community groups, schools and cultural organizations, highlighting the city’s diversity.”
