Footwork for Sets Workshops – Four Class Series with Pádraig McEneany
February 6 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Sunday, repeating until February 6, 2022
FOOTWORK FOR SETS WORKSHOPS: JOIN US FOR A FOUR CLASS SERIES on footwork for set dancing with Pádraig McEneany. Sessions will be held on January 16, 23, 30 and February 6 at 10:00 am PST / 1:00 pm EST. These one-hour Sunday classes will be held on Zoom and are offered free of charge to Comhaltas members. The sessions are co-sponsored by the Sliabh Sandia New Mexico CCE branch and the Sliabh Sandia Set Dancers. This is a great opportunity to learn Clare and Connemara reel steps and other steps for reels, jigs, and polkas if you are a beginner set dancer or to refine your battering steps if you are a more advanced dancer. Pádraig does a great job of building footwork and battering for all skill levels.
About Pádraig McEneany: Raised in South Armagh, he now makes his home with his wife and dance partner Róisín McEneany in Co. Louth. Pádraig was a member of the Slievenamon Set Dancers with Connie Ryan and has since performed and taught in the U.S., Ireland, U.K., Italy, Germany, Canada and other locations around the world. He and Róisín have produced two DVD/CD packages entitled “The Full Set 1 & 2” with Faos Do Chois and the Triskell Ceili Band.
