May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

This St Patrick’s Day, come to a Live Band Irish St Patrick’s Day Dance Party!!
Learn Traditional Waltz, Polka from an Irish point of view, and Irish Country Jive (an Irish style of Swing Dance popular in Ireland)! Stay for the dance party. Or just come to the party.

Reel Blast is an Irish Ceili dance band
– Rachel Shenin on Fiddle
– Shannon Darby on Fiddle
– Greg Ashton on Banjo
– Stephen Cooper on Bouzouki (Irish Bouzouki) & Guitar

Maureen Mulvey will call one Irish “Ceili Dance” in each of the band’s three sets. These are easy-to-do dances that everyone joins in and does together. Maureen is a long-time highly regarded teacher and caller for Irish dance.

The band will play Reels, Jigs and Polkas, all of which are good for dancing Polka and other things, plus Waltzes. On the two band breaks, Irish Country Jive music will be played.

Wearing green and Irish-themed things is encouraged, but optional.

La Plaza is a fully licensed bar & cocktail lounge run by friends of Swing Toronto. There’s a good vibe, large dance floor, and good things to eat.

Presented by Swing Toronto & Waltz Toronto

This is part of the Sunday Night Live Band Dance Series at La Plaza

DJ Simon Threlkeld during band breaks.
