Summer Immersion Week 2022

We at the North American Gaeltacht, the only recognized Gaeltacht area outside Ireland, are pleased and excited to invite you back to the Gaeltacht site for our summer immersion week 2022, happening between the 8-13th of August. We have a new schedule that we are excited to share!
Throughout the week there will be Irish language classes at 5 separate levels for complete beginners through to fluent speakers in a fully Gaelic atmosphere that will give a chance for learners to practice their language skills outside of the classroom. Along with that, cultural workshops will be available. It is our goal that every learner will be at ease to speak their Irish, however much or little, in a relaxing atmosphere.
The Canadian Oireachtas will happen in November this year. There will also be a pop-up event later in August and a larger event in November for those members who are not able to travel to the Gaeltacht site. More information will be coming about these shortly!
Registration is required. Camp on the site to get the full immersive experience. Breakfasts and catered dinners included each day. In a first for this year, be sure to check out any library books you are interested in for pickup at the Gaeltacht summer week!

Tumsheachtain Samhraidh 2022

Tá áthas agus sceitimíní orainn ag Gaeltacht an Oileáin Úir, an t-aon cheantar gaeltachta amháin in aitheantas taobh lasmuigh d’Éirinn, cuireadh a chur oraibhse thar n-ais go suíomh na Gaeltachta go fisiciúil chun Tumsheachtain Samhraidh 2022, ar siúl idir an 8-13ú mí Lúnasa. Tá clár nua againn go bhfuilimíd ar bís chun roinnt libh!
I rith na seachtaine beidh ranganna Gaeilge ar siúil, ar 5 leibhéil éagsula idir glantosnaitheoir agus cainteoir líofa in atmaisféar lánGhaeilge a thabharfaidh seans d’fhoghlaimeoirí a gcuid scileanna teangan a chleachtadh taobh lasmuigh don seomra ranga. I dteannta leis sin, cuirfear ceardlanna cultúrtha ar fáil. Is é sprioc againn go mbeidh na haon fhoghlaimeoir ar a shuaimhneas a chuid Gaeilge, beag nó mór, a chleachtadh agus a labhairt in atmaisféar scíthe.
Beidh Oireachtas Gaeilge Cheanada ar siúl i mí na Nollaig i mbliana. Agus beidh imeacht pop-up ar líne níos déanaí i mí Lúnasa agus imeacht eile níos mó i mí na Nollaig ar son ár mbaill ná fuil ábalta teacht go suíomh na Gaeltachta. Beidh tuilleadh eolais ar na himeachtaí seo ag teacht go luath!
Clárúchán ar leith de dhíth. Campáil ar an suíomh chun eispéireas tumoidis go hiomlán a fháilt. Bricfeasta agus dinnéir lónadóra ngach lá. Don chéad uair, bíg deimhnitheach aon ábhar leabharlainne go bhfuil suim agaibh fúthu a sheiceáil amach agus iompar suas iad le linn na tumsheachtaine!
